The area now known as the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park was once the "Nakajima District," serving for a long time as a vibrant center of the city.

On August 6, 1945, at 8:15 a.m., an atomic bomb exploded overhead, bringing the city's time to a standstill. Countless lives were lost—including residents, mobilized soldiers, and students—and a historic town vanished without a trace.

In 1949, after the war, a shared desire emerged to rebuild this site as a symbol of peace.
Following the redevelopment of the area around the hypocenter, the current Peace Memorial Park, covering approximately 122,100 square meters, was established.

現在の広島平和記念公園の一帯は、かつて「中島地区」と呼ばれ、長く街の中心地として活気あふれる場所でした。

1945年8月6日午前8時15分、上空で原子爆弾が炸裂し、街の時間は止まりました。
当時そこにいた住民、動員された軍人や学生など多くの尊い命が奪われ、歴史ある町並みは姿を消しました。

戦後の1949年、この地を平和の象徴として再建しようという願いが集まり、爆心地周辺の整備を経て、今日の広さ約122,100㎡に及ぶ平和記念公園が造成されました。

이곳 히로시마 평화기념공원 일대는 과거 '나카지마 지구'라 불리며, 오랜 시간 도시의 중심지이자 활기찬 공간으로 자리했던 곳입니다.

1945년 8월 6일 오전 8시 15분, 상공에서 원자폭탄이 폭발하며 도시의 시간이 멈추었습니다.
당시에 머물던 주민들, 작업에 동원되었던 군인과 학생들을 비롯한 수많은 소중한 생명이 희생되었고, 오랜 역사를 간직한 풍경은 자취를 감추었습니다.

전후 1949년, 이곳을 평화의 상징으로 재건하려는 뜻이 모였고, 폭심지 주변을 정비하여 오늘날 약 122,100㎡ 규모의 평화기념공원이 조성되었습니다.

Located in the heart of the park, the "Memorial Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims" honors those who lost their lives and embodies a prayer for lasting world peace.
Under the arch, a stone vault holds the register of names for all victims, regardless of nationality.

公園の中心に据えられた「原爆死没者慰霊碑」は、犠牲者を追悼し、恒久平和を祈る心を込めて建立されました。
アーチ型の構造物の下には、国籍を問わず、原爆で犠牲になったすべての方々の名簿が納められています。

공원 중심에 자리한 '원폭사망자 위령비'는 희생자들을 추도하고 인류의 항구적인 평화를 기원하는 마음을 담고 있습니다.
아치 형태의 구조물 아래에는 국적에 관계없이 당시 원폭으로 희생된 모든 이들의 명부가 안치되어 있습니다.

정면에서 아치 너머를 바라보면, 뒤편의 ‘평화의 불’과 강 건너편에 보존된 ‘원폭 돔’이 일직선으로 가지런히 이어집니다.




It is a structure where the space of mourning, the aspiration for peace, and the memories of the past converge within a single, serene view.

追悼の場と平和への願い、そして過去の記憶が、静謐な視界の中で一つに繋がる構造です。

추도의 공간과 평화를 향한 염원, 그리고 과거의 기억이 단정한 시야 속에 하나로 연결되는 구조입니다.

Within the Peace Memorial Park, there are various monuments and symbols that preserve the memories of that day and offer comfort to the departed souls.

平和記念公園内には、原爆死没者慰霊碑のほかにも、あの日を記憶し、慰霊するための象徴が随所に配されています。

평화기념공원 내에는 원폭사망자 위령비 외에도 그날을 기억하고 넋을 위로하는 상징물들이 곳곳에 자리하고 있습니다.

(中) 原爆の子の像：被爆の後遺症で亡くなった佐々木禎子さんをはじめ、多くの子供たちの霊を慰めるものです。世界中から平和を願って寄せられた折り鶴が、ガラスケースの中を満たしています。

(右) 平和の鐘：訪れる人が自由に撞くことができ、水面を伝って公園全体に穏やかに響き渡る清らかな鐘の音を聞くことができます。


(좌) 한국인 원폭 희생자 위령비: 식민 통치 아래 자유를 잃은 채 희생된 한국인들을 추도하기 위해 세워진 비석입니다.

(중) 원폭 어린이의 상 : 피폭 후유증으로 세상을 떠난 사사키 사다코를 비롯해 수많은 어린이 희생자들의 넋을 위로하는 동상입니다. 세계 각국에서 평화를 염원하며 보내온 종이학들이 유리 진열장 안을 가득 채우고 있습니다.

(우) 평화의 종: 방문객이 직접 타종할 수 있으며, 수면을 따라 공원 전체로 은은하게 울려 퍼지는 맑은 종소리를 들을 수 있습니다.
